Accounting Associate

Our Accounting Associate performs a variety of professional level accounting duties involved in preparing, maintaining, analyzing, verifying, and reconciling moderately complex financial transactions, statements, records, and reports. You will maintain the accuracy of the ledgers and financial systems; assist in the preparation of deliverables and period close activities for our operating company.

What You'll Do:

• Follow standards and rules when keeping accounts. Ensure the general ledger, and other financial information data are correct and up to date.
• Prepare for month-end close.
• Post A/R and A/P to the General Ledger.
• Track accounts receivable and confirm all payments are properly recorded. Check all accounts to make sure they have the correct balances.
• Evaluate billing and invoicing data in the accounting databases. Research and resolve receivable issues.
• Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
• Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.

What You'll Need:

To perform this job successfully, an individual will need to perform each crucial duty acceptably. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Bachelor's Degree preferred with 2-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Some real estate experience preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Experience with real estate accounting software MRI a plus.
• Advanced math skills. Ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
• Ability to work independently and within a team to build relationships and interface effectively with various service lines.
• Ability to multi-task, work successfully under pressure, and effectively prioritize and manage time and workload to meet deadlines.
• Willingness to take on new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments.
